fore the ladies finds

volume 2, issue 7

This FTL finds is brought to you by THE Solheim Cup! Keep reading for more from them.

“At the PGA, Mickelson found the pieces that gave him the mental clarity he needed to trust his game. That same week, I started to find mine… but I wasn’t quite ready to trust them. This past week, I was. And I won. And it feels pretty damn awesome.” -Meghan MacLaren, in her blog after winning her first Symetra Tour title

Hi y’all -

It’s been pretty hot and humid where I’ve been recently, but summer is my jam, so no complaints here. If you didn’t click on Meghan’s blog post in her quote above, I’d hiiiighly recommend reading it. Her perspective is fantastic and translates to life off the golf course, too.

I hope you’re getting out to play, watch some golf when you need to escape the heat and getting excited for the SOLHEIM CUP. The Solheim Cup is a biennial, transatlantic team match-play competition pitting the 12 best European (LET) players against the 12 best U.S. (LPGA) players. This year it’s taking place at Inverness Club in Toledo, OH (peep, one of our FTL clinic cities!). We’re excited to have them included in this month’s newsletter, so keep scrolling for prizes and sweepstakes from the event and #getinvolved!

Finally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t remind you all about Hearts & Darts, our second FTL Golf Getaway happening this November at Streamsong Resort. This two-night, three-day event is going to be epic, full of golf and off-course activities, and I can’t wait to see familiar faces while meeting some new ones. Oh yeah, and play Streamsong Red and Black, too. Find all the details HERE.

Fore the Ladies Intro-to-Golf Series: Multiple clinics in 1 city … oh yes we did. Each week, they’ll dedicate a session to a specific part of the sport: putting, chipping, long game, driving, golf course etiquette and unwritten rules.

july finds

spraying

My favorite bug spray. Charleston based mission essentials m2 spray was created by registered nurses- products are free of parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), harsh chemicals and synthetic fragrances. Available in large and small bottles, it's my summer go-to on and off of the course. -kristen

wearing

I love discovering non-golf, golf wear - these shorts I found at Old Navy are awesome! They have side and back pockets, plus a secret side pocket with a zip so you can't lose anything. They are perfect for a casual round or range session on a hot day. -sara (model as well)

learning

I’m incredibly inconsistent when it comes to bunker shots, so I’ll take any tip I can get. Dr. Alison Curdt’s tip to draw a circle around the golf ball in the bunker is the perfect practice drill for me. I found this video from Callaway Golf and they have a bunch of instructional videos that you can watch here. -abby

The Solheim Cup

U-S-A! U-S-A! As we mentioned above, we are PUMPED for the Solheim Cup, which will be contested over Labor Day weekend at Inverness Club in Toledo, OH.

We caught up with Becky Newell, Tournament Director for the Solheim Cup, for our next Ladies of Golf podcast where she shared her story and why fans should be coming to and watching the SC. You can listen to that here.

The United States holds an 10-6 advantage over Europe in Solheim Cup competition, and we hope they extend that to 11-6 this fall!

To celebrate, we teamed up with the Solheim Cup for a sweepstakes! You can enter to win on our Instagram and the grand prize is A pair of One Any Day Practice Round tickets (!!). Two other winners will receive a Solheim Cup Hat & 2019 Signed Pin Flag from Team USA or this prize pack you see on the left.

gifting

Remember mood rings? This aloe vera lip balm is a fun throwback to the 2000s. It appears green but brings out an individual sheer pink depending on the person. A fun gift! -kristen

wearing

I’m still feeling pretty festive after the Fourth of July and now I’m looking for my Team USA outfits to rock during the Olympics and Solheim Cup. I’m pretty sure my girl Sara sent me this Urban Outfitters dress that I’d pair with some spandex shorts when on the course. I also love a subtle accessory and this Jayebird Golf hair tie will do just the trick. -abby

wearing

I can't stop wearing this new skort from outdoor voices. The compression, sleek lines and subtle slit are super flattering and chic. At $58 (less 20% for new customers), the cost per wear is hard to beat! -kristen

cooking

This recipe is my hot weather comfort food - it's all I can stand to cook when it's boiling out! -sara
