Fore the Ladies Finds: March 2025

Hi all!

I'm just returning from a trip visiting family in Florida and while it was so fun to pull out my new golf gear, it was also a good reminder of how pale I am. Sunless tanning drops are being delivered this week. Outside of the fits, I'm also working on my mindset for the season. Last year, I put so much pressure on myself to improve. This year, I'm going to focus on having fun. Missed my approach shot? It's fine, we're moving on to the next one!

March brings us our first FTL event of the season and I can't wait to meet some of you in Nashville! We'll be off and running from there with 60+ events in 2025.

Also returning in full swing are LPGA events! The women's professional tour kicks off its season back in the U.S. at the end of the month in Arizona for the Ford Championship (Nelly Korda is defending champion!). Now some of you may know that FTL is not actually my full-time gig. I work for Fried Egg Golf, a golf media company, and I'm so excited that the team is launching a women's golf podcast this week! Meg and Matthew of The Mixed Bag podcast will keep me on my toes this year as I plan to try to keep up with women's professional golf in 2025. You'll be able to get this podcast anywhere you listen to them!

Without further ado, the FTL Finds of March.

2025 Fore the Ladies Golf Getaways

Our final Golf Getaway of 2025 will be at Big Cedar Lodge from October 17-19, 2025. This trip is going to be seriously so luxe and fun. We will be playing 2 rounds of golf, plus you receive a $200 gift card to use on property (spa, more golf, up to you!), a private chef for our welcome reception and all accommodations are single occupancy in cottages atop the Payne's Valley course. REGISTRATION

Lastly, we've started 2026 Scotland registration! Click here for our itinerary and pricing, and register if you'd like to hear more about this FTL Golf Getaway.

Spark Golf Leagues

FTL is once again teaming up with Spark Golf leagues, which are super low-key, casual and fun 9-hole rounds (sound familiar? hello, happy hour 9s!). It's free to join a league and you pay as you play. Spark Golf is helping us coordinate FTL Teams for each location.

Once you sign up for a round, email help@spark.golf. In your subject line, write "Fore the Ladies" and the course you signed up for, as well as the date. Mention, "I’m ‘Name’ with Fore the Ladies in 'League Name.' Can you add me to the Fore the Ladies group for this league?" You'll then be included in that group moving forward. We also have Fore the Ladies specific leagues in Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago!

All are welcome to FTL events.

Chelsea

Renwick released this periwinkle line for Spring! This sleeveless polo could be perfect for the FTL Sea Island trip.

I know these will be the first pants I wear when I play golf next week in South Carolina! Calling attention to the girls who like a nice stretch.

This Malbon polo was part of my Masters outfits recommendations and I think it's so gorgeous. It's a splurge piece but a statement one that I'll be investing in.

Ok, I'm cheating here because Sara tossed this in the newsletter group chat and mentioned someone should recommend this in the finds! When we all show up with the same Away bag or black golf travel bag, you can recognize yours with the custom tag ;)

This fabric feels super luxe and I love the subtle color detail on the collar.

You can't go wrong with a classic navy vest when spring temps are still iffy! Bonus points for zipping at the top and bottom.

Kristen

These socks are sure to bring a smile to your spring golf fit and a pep to your step.

The subtle floral pattern of this packable bucket hat is perfect for a bright day on the course or on-the-go!

Fitness Focus with Samantha Rothberg

Hi again, I’m Samantha. I’m a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach and a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level 2 Fitness Coach. I live in the Hamptons year-round and coach clients virtually and in person. Over the years, I’ve helped numerous golfers in the weight room improve their game and am here to help give you some tips in the weight room.

I know that stepping into the weight room feels intimidating. But the gym is for everyone. It’s my happy place and I want to help you feel that way too!

Here are a few things that can help you ease your way into the weight room if you feel nervous or out of place.

  • Re-rack your weights. Leave the gym cleaner than you found it.

  • Be mindful of your space. Avoid setting up an obstacle course in the middle of the gym or blocking the weight rack by standing directly in front of the mirror.

  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help! Gym people love to help. Trainers or floor staff are there for this, just don’t interrupt if they’re mid session.

  • The biggest, strongest person in the gym is probably the nicest. They’ve been where you are, think gentle giants.

  • Don’t start a conversation mid-set. If someone’s about to squat heavy weight, wait until they’re done before asking a question or working in.

  • Clean up after yourself. Wipe down equipment when you're done.

  • Prioritize your main goal. If you're doing both strength and cardio, do the most important one first.

  • A 15-minute workout is better than no workout. Showing up consistently helps build the habit and also assuages your fear of the gym.

  • You don’t need trendy gym clothes to fit in. No one’s really watching. But if a cute outfit gets you excited to train, I fully support a shopping spree.

  • Avoid running shoes for lifting. Opt for flat shoes like Metcons, Converse, or even socks (if allowed) for better stability.

  • Bring a friend. You’re significantly more likely to get your workout in if you have an accountability partner! Especially when you’re starting out, having moral support can help ease some of your nerves.

  • Ask to work in if someone’s using a machine. It’s normal, and most people don’t mind. Asking to work in also shows you know the vocab.

  • Reset the weight after working in. This is a small touch that earns you serious gym cred.

  • And lastly please try to remember, most people are focused on their own workouts. That intense gym face is likely just concentration. Gym people are often some of the kindest people out there. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, make friends, and most importantly, enjoy the gains!

If you would like to schedule a complimentary TPI screening over Zoom, or have an idea for something you’d like me to cover in the next newsletter, please reach out via Instagram @samantharothberg or my website www.samantharothbergfitness.com. Happy training!
